The Northwest Dharma Association was founded to support Buddhist teachings and community in the Northwest. It includes two types of members: groups and individuals. The work is supported through membership dues and donations.
This web site is one of the principle ways the Northwest Dharma Association fulfills its mission. If you are a first-time visitor, you can discover the broad range of Buddhist activities in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, Idaho, and Montana. There is information on the basics of Buddhism as well as guidance in locating a teacher or sangha (group). If you are relocating here and already have a practice, you can browse through our member group directory by tradition or location. If you are part of a temple, sangha, practice community, this site is a way of reaching the public.
This site is also the link to the electronic Northwest Dharma News, our online member newsletter. The newsletter is currently available to everyone, but will eventually be restricted to members, who receive it via email.
This site was launched in early November 2007 and will be undergoing extensive further development in the next few months.
